Summary: Essential quick-reference book to keep by you
Comment: This is a very useful quick-reference grammar book when you want to look up something for the basic rules. It's neat and concise and clearly laid out. It's by no means comprehensive but provides good guidance up to A Level. I've found it useful both as a student and more recently as a tutor for giving good basic ground rules.

Summary: A French Reference Grammar by H Ferrar
Comment: I have two copies of this book which I use all the time. I was given the first as a present and then bought myself another copy so that I could keep the other at work. I have used it continuously and have always been able to find what I am looking for in it.The indexing system allows you to find the information you need quickly. It is not always easy to understand at first glance but with a little perseverance you can get there in the end. Highly recommended.
