Summary: Not what I expect from CGP
Comment: This is the only CGP book which I think doesn't do its' job fantastically. The book does not go into enough depth at all. It lacks enough Bible teachings - something which is required to pass the exam! Many topics are totally missed out, and the book didn't provide me with any help in remebering things for the exam.
Students beware! Many exam boards such as OCR have split the Christianity Religious Studies syllabus up into different courses, and you normally only study one course. This book tries to cover all the courses in a small amount of space and fails.
I don't understand why CGP had to release it with Islam and Judaism, as I wasn't even studying these, and it is a waste of money for me. I would expect CGP to release revision guides for all the major religions separately.
In conclusion, this book is only good for a really quick reference before the exam and if you are in a rush, and to be very honest it didn't help me much at all.

Summary: Good Revision guide
Comment: This is an excellent revision to use. It uses visual aids in order to help you with your revision and it certainly does not lack in detail- It simply breaks down the subjects into simpler parts making them easier to understand.

Summary: Insufficient details
Comment: Having just used, or attempt to use this book for my GCSE RE exam, I must say i'm not too impressed.
I bought this book thinking it would provide something on top of the work and notes that I produced in class, yet there isn't a great amount of detail to be able to get the highest marks in the exam. I ended up relying on the notes made in class (which i'm never too keen on doing) and just ditching this book completely by the end.
The two stars I did award it are due to a great price and a simple, clear layout, but this still falls short of my expectations.

Summary: GCSE Revision Guide
Comment: This is an excellent resource for both classroom use and for setting homework/personal revision. It sets out clearly which exam boards it covers ie. AQA, Edexel & OCR. However, it is also very useful and relevant for other boards too.

There is much in this book which could also be used in the classroom for Key Stage 3 work. For example the Sermon on the Mount page, Religious Symbolism and Festivals etc. are all so clearly and interestingly explained.

As with other subjects in this series, this book is colourful & highly readable. I'd recommend teachers to use class copies and pupils to also get hold of one!

The only fault I really have is that it only covers Christianity, Judaism & Islam! But then the information on these 3 major world religions is detailed.

I'd love to see another published in the same style covering Sikhism, Hinduism & Buddhism!
