Customer Rating: Summary: Great for the car. Comment: I don't think they could have made this CD any better really. There are only about 2 actual songs that the kids can sing along too which are "Bestest in the Barn" and "Bat Cat" but these are 2 of my children's favourite songs and cheer us all up.
The rest of the music is all the happy little tunes from the show interspersed with sounds clips of Charlie and Lola talking about various things. We have had this CD in the car for about a month. At the beginning of the journey one of the 2 proper songs is usually requested but then they sit and listen spellbound to the other ones for the rest of the journey. All the music is very upbeat and lots of funny dialogue and we have found it a lovely CD to have in the car.
Customer Rating: Summary: Slightly dissapointed Comment: Not sure what I was expecting with this, possibly another childrens songs cd - but really it's more like excerpts from the books and tv show.
Strange.
Customer Rating: Summary: ridiculous postage to Singapore Comment: I paid for the product but postage to Singapore was 10 times more expensive and so decided to ask the 'postman' to not send it to me.
Customer Rating: Summary: The music is the point! Comment: One of the things which makes Charlie & Lola so good is the music in the episodes. This cd contains extended versions of that music - superbly arranged and wonderfully put together. Our daughter loves it, as do we! Don't be put off by the one star reviews - they are missing the point as it is the music, not the songs or lack of them, which this cd celebrates.
Customer Rating: Summary: All the family loves it!! Clever stuff. Comment: This is a very cleverly produced CD. It is the background/incidental music and some main themes from the TV series with dialogue from the characters over the top of some of it. Together these, kind of, illustrate the story the music comes from. Its not, however, a simple "story-record" some parents might remember. Very dancable, my 4 year old boy and 18 month old girl love it and they don't need to see C&L to be able to enjoy them. Both of them can recognise the music and the older one can tell you which stories they come from.
Musically it's very rich in different instruments and clever arrangements and timings, but catchy too, nothing elitist or inaccessable here, just good musical fun. The other positive reviews say it all too. The negative ones? Well I guess you just can't please all of the people all of the time!
