Comment: This is among the best CDs I have ever bought! I've been listening to it for 2 months straight, and I'm still not sick of it! Listening to John's voice as he sings these songs makes me laugh, makes me cry, and occasionally makes me cry out his name in pleasure. There's a great selection of songs, and they are just sung so beautifully! Love it!

Summary: A really good discovery!
Comment: I had no idea John Barrowman had 4 albums out. I swear I'm not an alien from Mars, I'm just a human from France.
I've stumbled upon "Another Side" searching for a "Torchwood" soundtrack and the lastest review really made me want to have a listen. I absolutely don't regret buying it!
This man certainly can sing and has a really beautiful voice (associated to a perfect diction which is a real treat for this french woman).
Some of the songs I already knew but some I've discovered, being french. Like for instance "Being Alive" and "Feeling Good" that are two of my favs because they completely suit John's voice and give him the possibility to show the full range of it.
So these two and "Time After Time" (very moving interpretation) and "All By Myself" (Celine Dion, eat your heart out!) are the ones that stand out after several listenings but really, I listen to the whole album with great pleasure.
Contrary to "Your Song" or "You're So Vain" where I feel (but it's just a personnal impression) that the orchestrations are a bit too rich and tend to "bury" John's voice a little, songs like "She's Always a Woman" and "Please Remember Me" (where I've discovered John's low range voice and wow!) for instance have a more low key music (lots of cords and piano in several of the songs, which I really liked) and really enhance John Barrowman's voice.
There's singing technique (you can feel the years of experience in musicals) but there's also lots of emotions coming from the interpretations and the two are seldom found in the same singer.
The only thing I could regret about "Another Side" is that some of the covers are too much like the originals, down to the breathing breaks. But that's not going to prevent me from buying the other 3 albums.

Summary: A Must Buy!
Comment: I love this CD. John Barrowman has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard and the emotion he puts into his singing gives me shivers every time I hear him.
I was unsure about a couple of the songs on the CD. Not because I don't like them, but because I absolutely love them and I worried about them being "ruined". As it turned out, I actually preferred Barrowman's versions to the originals!
There genuinely seems to be nothing this man can't do.

Comment: I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CD. JOHN BARROWMAN'S VOICE IS PERFECT TO LISTEN TO.
THE SONGS WERE ALL ONES I ENJOY AND HE PUT AN WONDERFUL INTERPRETATION ON THEM.

Summary: JOHN SHOULD BE A CONTESTANT NOT A JUDGE
Comment: This album merely proves that John is not maent to be a judge but really needs to be judged. The production may be low and cheap but what lets the albumn down is JB over acting singing ability which does not shine through here. This album is merely a collection of karoke type covers recorded very quickly to cash in on what TV work he has going. I do believe JB needs to act on his own advice to reality show wannabes and take up some direction and singing lessons before embarking on a further album.
