Customer Rating: Summary: Need proof of them as pop's best live band? Here it is... Comment: If there's one thing that's made McFly last as long as they have done for the past 5 years, it's the fact that they pull out pretty much all the stops when it comes to playing live and touring, which is illustrated perfectly on this DVD which accompanied the top 5 album of the same name.
Filmed last September at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, whilst their "Greatest Hits" show may lack some of the pyromaniac pizazz that their arena tours usually have - i.e. big video screens and a little podium for Harry's drums to levitate about on - this is an enjoyable, intimate and engaging set that shows off not only their performing prowess but also the funny, often heartwarming crowd interaction - particularly on performances of tracks like "Obviously", "Friday Night", "Transylvania" and "All About You".
Also included on the DVD is a short montage of clips from their hit MTV documentary series "Up Close and Personal", showing amusing moments such as Tom disecting individual members' taste in clothing, Danny "poking his head out" to an extremely overexcited audience, Harry showing us their "view" from their dressing room, and the band doing a vocal warm up via a rendition of their long lost support act V's "Blood, Sweat and Tears", and there's also rather handily all of their videos from "5 Colours In Her Hair" to "The Heart Never Lies" included here too.
Even if you're not a hardcore fan, but perhaps just like a few of their songs, for the price and what you get on here it's definitely worth investigation, and perfect viewing for a night in.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not the greatest DVD Comment: I bought this DVD after going to the Greatest Hits concert in Glasgow, and what a mistake! The DVD looked nothing like the live show (the later shows had all the screens and extra bits, including a stage in the middle of the floor and some extra songs). The "extras" were laughable - two videos from two DVDs ago and the same "jokes" as the Wonderland DVD. I almost wish I hadn't bought it now.
Customer Rating: Summary: MCFLY :) Comment: although this tour wasn't as good as the other 3 mcfly concerts i have been to, this dvd is a good buy. although the wonderland tour dvd CONCERT is better, this dvd has all the videos on it, which i enjoyed watching more than the concert. also, this concert has their version of umbrella - awesome! mcfly fans, buy it! :)
Customer Rating: Summary: Wasn't what I expected Comment: Being a huge McFly fan for over a year now, I was really excited for their Greatest Hits DVD.
Upon watching it, though, I was a bit disappointed. They were great, as always, but it wasn't as good as their 2 other DVDs. I also found the quality a little poor.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good....but LIVE is BETTER! Comment: I have been to all 3 McFly concerts, at the big arenas, and loved them all, and loved the DVD's too. The problem with this one, is being shot in a smaller venue it missed a lot of the OOMPH you get with the arena. I love the band, but whoever edited this DVD did it to the max! It's even missing the Movie intro vid, and Harry's dance vid from in the middle! All in all, could be better, not due to the bands fault, but to those techs who messed around too much!
