Pixar genius reigns in this funny romantic comedy, which stars a robot who says absolutely nothing for a full 25 minutes yet somehow completely transfixes and endears himself to the audience within the first few minutes of the film. As the last robot left on earth, Wall-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is one small robot--with a big, big heart--who holds the future of Earth and mankind squarely in the palm of his metal hand. He's outlasted all the "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class" robots that were assigned some 700 years ago to clean up the environmental mess that man made of earth while man vacationed aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom. Wall-E has dutifully gone about his job compacting trash, the extreme solitude broken only by his pet cockroach, but he's developed some oddly human habits and ideas. When the Axiom sends its regularly scheduled robotic EVE probe (Elissa Knight) to earth, Wall-E is instantly smitten and proceeds to try to impress EVE with his collection of human memorabilia. EVE's directive compels her to bring Wall-E's newly collected plant sprout to the captain of the Axiom and Wall-E follows in hot pursuit. Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with Wall-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth. Wall-E is a great family film with the most impressive aspect being the depth of emotion conveyed by a simple robot--a machine typically considered devoid of emotion, but made so absolutely touching by the magic of Pixar animation. Also well-worth admiring are the sweeping views from space, the creative yet disturbing vision of what strange luxuries a future space vacation might offer, and the innovative use of trash in a future cityscape. Underneath the slapstick comedy and touching love story is a poignant message about the folly of human greed and its potential effects on earth and the entire human race. --Tami Horiuchi, Amazon.com

Customer Rating: Summary: Good, not great....looks amazing though! Comment: Disney/Pixar always bring out cinema masterpieces with classics such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles being some of the best movies of all time. `Wall-E' is their latest and for months now I've been eagerly awaiting my Blu Ray copy to come through the post from LoveFilm and last weekend it finally did.
My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets with the rich, sharp picture and probably the best animation I have ever seen in my life. The story and actual film however didn't live up to my expectations at all. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it. It had a lot of heart-warming and funny moments and the idea was good, but it just didn't have any really memorable scenes and at times I felt like it was dragging a little bit (even though it is only just over 90 minutes long).
Overall it is an enjoyable little film that is without a doubt the best picture quality I've seen so far on Blu Ray (yes, including The Dark Knight even!) but just don't expect anything near the greatness of Pixar's other classics. It's well worth a rent at least.
Film - 3/5
Picture - 5/5
Overall - 4/5
Customer Rating: Summary: Best pixar film since toy story 2, maybe better. Comment: Pixar have created a perfect balance of great comedic timiming and animation with a great with a lot of heart. The sound and picture are incredible on blu ray and my coach shook when i watched it. This is definatly up there with the toy story films for entertainment and great charecters who you really care about. The two animated short films are also very good and i chuckled my way through both of them.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Blu Ray must own Comment: Wall.E is by far one of the best Blu Ray feature films out right now and is a great treat for the eyes. As a huge pixar fan myself, I must say this is possibly one of the best pixar films.
The story is simple yet combines both art with entertainment, in a style which harps back the days of silent film. It pushes the boundries of its own genre to a new limit with great sucess in, perhaps the coolest movie robot ever.
The animation is beautifally captured in 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video at 2.35:1. From owning Ratatouille I knew pixar would make another excellent HD movie and they have.
Extras are a bundle load on this two disc set all mostly shot in HD it includes more pixar short films, BD live and mini games.
For around £16 its worth buying with no plans to release a pixar blu ray box set for a long time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful Comment: I hadn't seen this in the cinema and wasn't really sure to expect. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! The picture looks simply beautiful. The extras are quite nice too. A great Blu-ray.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor Story Line Comment: I was really disappointed with this movie. It had a very feeble story line and was quite boring towards the end. There is only so much you can take of this robot crushing a pile of scrap. I bet it must excite the environmentalists though. The only reason I gave it three stars is that the bonus movie is really brilliant (unless it was the boredom of Wall-E kicking in!). Excellent graphics, great sound, non-existant plot.
