Why bowls are unsuitable
A decorative bowl is not simply a smaller aquarium. RSPCA guidance explains that very small containers can lack stable water conditions, effective filtration, oxygen exchange and temperature control. Tropical fish also require species-appropriate heated water. GOV.UK guidance identifies tropical freshwater and tropical marine fish as fish that must be kept in heated aquaria. Build the right feeding system
Feeding should take place in the aquarium and should reflect the species' feeding level★ and behaviour. Protect water quality
