Account & Data Deletion
ShopperWorld members can request closure of their account and deletion of associated personal information, subject to lawful retention requirements.
How to request deletion
During the current development stage, a member can request deletion by contacting ShopperWorld through the published support/privacy contact channel and identifying the ShopperWorld account concerned. Before public launch, this page should contain the final support email or an authenticated self-service deletion form.
What we will do
- verify that the requester is authorised to control the account;
- disable or close the ShopperWorld account as appropriate;
- remove connected social-authentication identities, including Facebook connections;
- delete or anonymise personal information that is no longer required;
- retain only information that we are required or permitted to keep for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute or security purposes.
Business listings
Deleting a member account does not necessarily require deletion of factual public information about an independent business. Where a business listing must remain for legitimate platform purposes, personal account associations should be removed or transferred appropriately. Business owners may separately request correction or review of listing information.
Facebook connection removal
If you disconnect Facebook from ShopperWorld, the Facebook provider identifier stored for authentication should be removed from the connected identity record when the connection is deleted. Disconnecting Facebook does not automatically delete the entire ShopperWorld account unless you separately request account deletion.
Confirmation
Once a valid deletion request has been processed, ShopperWorld should confirm completion or explain any information that must lawfully be retained. A production response timeframe and contact address should be published here before the service is opened to the general public.
